Relationship testing assists in the outcome of an NSW Supreme Court Case
In the 2017 case; Kohari v NSW Trustee & Guardian [2017] NSWSC 1080 the court considered an application relating to the biological connection between the applicant and the respondent who was deceased. The applicant claimed that the deceased was his father despite never really meeting him. To reach a conclusion, the court ordered DNA testing. The Genetic Reconstruction and Y-STR chromosome test was conducted to determine whether the applicant had a genetic match to the respondents’ living relatives.
